Restore, retain, and undo
Boards checkpoint automatically as you work, and every checkpoint can be restored — no separate branches or merge step to think about.
How checkpoints work
A board's history is a linear sequence of saved snapshots. Restoring an older version replaces the current state with that snapshot — it doesn't create a branch, and it doesn't discard the versions in between, so you can restore forward again if you change your mind.
Retention by plan
- Starter — 7 days of version history.
- Studio — unlimited version history.
If you're on Starter and downgrade from a trial, existing history past 7 days isn't deleted retroactively — it's just not created going forward until you're back on a paid plan.
Trash
Deleting a board doesn't remove it immediately. It moves to the trash for 30 days, fully restorable from the trash view, before it's permanently and irreversibly purged. You can also permanently delete a board immediately from the trash if you're certain.
In-session undo/redo
Separate from version history, Ctrl/Cmd+Z and Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z undo and redo your last actions within the current editing session — the fast, granular version of "go back one step," for when you don't need to restore a whole snapshot.
